Welcome to the Ski d’Or. You’ll like it here. You may think Tignes is a little far from the airport for a weekend. But we think not… It takes just under 3 hours from Geneva and if you don't mind the extra drive-time, you can have 3 full days of high altitude snow in a 4* hotel with our welcoming staff to take care of you. The Ski d’Or is in the centre of Val Claret - the highest part of Tignes - which is always caked in so much snow, you can walk out of the front door, clip into your skis and enjoy the world-class ski runs of Tignes and Val d’Isere from your doorstep. At the end of the day, simply carve your way back to our front door, cross over the road and our friendly, welcoming staff will be on hand if you need them.

The Ski d’Or is a welcoming 4 star hotel in one of Tignes’ finest locations at the heart of Tignes Val Claret. This snow-covered ski village is right in the thick of the action. You can ski in to and from the hotel, and it has a central location for doorstep access to the bars and shops, whilst maintaing a calm atmosphere.

Enjoy breakfast with panoramic views of the slopes - from the hotel restaurant - and after a day’s skiing, head back to the comforts of our bar and lounge to enjoy the sensational views of the Grand Motte. After a cuppa’ tea and a slice of cake, (or something stronger!), why not head to the spa and recuperate yourself in the hotel hammam or sauna. Take it slow for a while. You’ve earned it.

The hotel has 27 en-suite bedrooms, beautifully presented in an Alpine-Chic style with luxurious carpets, mini-fridge, writing desk, sofa seating (in most rooms) and an ensuite bathroom, of course. Almost all the rooms enjoy sunny panoramic views of the mountains and views of the Grand Motte. We have a variety of twin, double and triple bedrooms with family quads and interconnecting rooms which are great for parents who want some privacy from their kids.

Location

Once you’ve fuelled up with a delicious breakfast then simply step outside the hotel, clip into your skis and ski down to the funicular. Or cross over the road to the slopes that lead up to the Tuffs chairlift (about 200 metres away) and you’ve got immediate access to Val d’Isère or the wider slopes of Tignes.

After a good day’s skiing then you can almost ski back to the hotel front door, unclip, cross over the road and head upstairs to our bar for a well earned drink or a cuppa’ tea and a piece of cake which we provide 6 days a week.

The Ski d’Or is in the centre of Val Claret - doorstep to the ski slopes, shops and bars of this vibrant mountain resort - which is a lively (and quite pretty) place to stay - as it’s always covered in so much snow!

Food, glorious food

Our half board catering package includes breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. We believe in eating well when you’re skiing and boarding. And a great day on the slopes starts with a very important meal. We serve up a proper breakfast each day, (with hot options on most days), to make sure you’re well set up for all the snow you can handle. And we know that nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes in the afternoon. Round off the day with a delicious evening meal fit for a snow king...or queen. You won’t go hungry staying with us!

About Tignes

Tignes and Val d’Isére are two of the most snow sure and prestigious ski resorts in the world. They offer summer skiing and a long winter season from November to May. The standard full area lift pass will cover both domains and a respectful 325Km’s of pisted trails - but there’s 100’s more Km’s of off piste on top - and that’s ‘usable off piste’ - as the snow is always so good in Tignes!
