About Tignes

Tignes is famous for its superior high altitude skiing and impeccable snow record.

Many of our chalets are in Tignes Les Brévierès, the oldest and prettiest part of Tignes which is also a great social hub.

There’s a choice of cool après ski venues with bars and cafés for all ages and energies and plenty of places to drink, dine, dance or do whatever you feel.

About the Skiing & Boarding

The slopes in Tignes are characteristically wide, long lasting and highly efficient. All in all, this allows for some effortless skiing for all abilities, less slope congestion and not so much waiting in lift queues!

The slopes are immaculately kept and link very well with neighbouring Val D’Isere to offer a superb variety of steeper descents and networks of easier runs for the progressive intermediates to cover some mileage.

Advanced skiers will enjoy the easily accessed Off Piste opportunities around Tignes, and the wide, open expanses of terrain which are perfect in the powder and don’t get tracked too quickly.

Some of these border the national park, and can be extraordinarily quiet, especially the array of excellent slopes and off piste routes down into Les Brevieres.

You really cannot better the variety of Tignes! The slopes are very suited to all levels of Skier and Snowboarder, and the Superpipe and Snow Park in Tignes is legendary. It usually has permanent shapers and is cut and groomed by people who really know what they're doing.

The park is maintained daily and so it is usually in very good condition, with a range of jumps for all abilities.

Beginner Skiing Tignes

Tignes is very good for a beginner skiing holiday. Beginners are able to progress very quickly from the highly accessible nursery slopes in Tignes centre to a gentle network of well kept green runs which make up the local area. The nurseries are also operated by a slow chairlift which allows beginners to improve with confidence in the early stages and away from their ski or snow board schools. The atmosphere for beginners is also very easy going.

Tignes night life

Many of our chalets are in Tignes Les Brévierès, the Old Town of Tignes. Expect a few lively bars, cafés and restaurants in a part of the resort that further benefits from it's pretty and quaint chalet-style architecture. Brev enjoys a characteristic friendly atmosphere that is further enhanced by the fact it is always covered in so much snow!

In Tignes le Lac where our chalet hotels and hotels are based there is more going on for the apres skier and resort shopaholic! The nightlife buzzes with a few late night bars and pubs and the restaurants are more diverse. There is also a small nightclub for those wanting a more hedonistic style of apres ski!

About Tignes

Tignes is famous for its excellent high altitude snow, largely due to the Grand Motte which plays host to the highest ski-able Glacier in France. It appeals to all abilities from beginner to expert powder skiers and is famous for its good quality snow and long season on the Grande Motte Glacier which has Summer skiing and snowboarding!

Tignes Le Lac

Our exclusive hotels and chalets in Tignes Le Lac enjoy prime slope-side or ski-to-door locations in this busier part of the resort, where there is an abundance of activites, shops and a vibrant nightlife centred around a pretty mountain lake.

Tignes Les Brevieres

Many of our chalets are in Les Brevieres, which is the original old town of Tignes and oozes alpine charm! It consists of lovingly restored and converted farmhouses and exclusive modern chalet developments.

The real beauty of this village is in its' snow sure slopes and high altitude status, allowing guests to enjoy premium skiing of a Glacial 'super resort' without the ugliness that goes with it!
