The Chalet

If you’ve been to Morzine then you’ll know it’s unusual to be able to ski back to your door. Chalet Nyon is 70 metres from the slopes and almost ski-to-door in every respect, so it’s quite a novelty not to need to catch a shuttle bus. It’s also 50 metres from the Nyon cable car so getting on the mountain each day couldn't be easier. At the top of the cable car are some of the best slopes in Morzine and Les Gets - so you can get route one access to the full resort, quicker than anyone else using the busier Pleney lifts in the centre of town.

Nyon has been fully restored to offer all the charm and beauty of an old, traditional ski chalet with the modern luxuries of a smart alpine retreat. Outside it looks every bit the archetypal wooden ski chalet, whilst inside, the Nyon’s cosy, firelit rooms (designed by Caroline Fooks Interiors) are perfect for relaxing after a day on the mountain.

At the end of the day, soak up the last of the evening sun in the hot tub on our sun terrace. It enjoys panoramic views of the Vallee Manche and Pointe de Nyon, which is home to some of the best skiing and boarding in the Portes du Soleil.

Layout

Laid out over three floors, there are five ensuite bedrooms for 10-12, and you can get a discount if you fill all 12 beds! On the main floor is a kitchen and dining room with comfy lounge and fireplace. Its balconies offer sunny mountain views and lead outside to an outdoor hot tub (on the sun deck). There’s a ski room with boot warmers and most rooms can fit a cot. Free chalet parking (onsite) for 4 cars

Location

The Location

Chalet Nyon is next door to the Nyon cable car and about 70 or 80 metres from the ski slopes of Nyon so you can practically ski back to the front door! Leaving the chalet for skiing each day couldn't be simpler (even with children) as the Nyon cable car is 50 metres away and gives immediate access to the crowd-free slopes of Nyon which links directly with Morzine and Les Gets.

So, you have route one access to some of the best skiing and boarding - for all levels - and without the long queues at Le Pleney or Super Morzine lifts.

You can walk to Morzine’s shops and bars in about 15 mins but we prefer to take the free shuttle bus which stops right outside the chalet and will whizz you into the heart of the action about a mile away. Daytime buses run (approx.) every 30 mins in the main season until late at night, with a break at lunch.

Food, glorious food

A good day on the mountains starts with one very important meal. To kick off your day, we serve a hearty breakfast to set you up for all the snow you can handle.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes in the afternoon and our delicious three-course meals with unlimited wine. Morzine

The Portes du Soleil ski region is one of the largest and most highly regarded in the world. It spans no less than 12 ski stations (reaching into Switzerland) all of which you can enjoy on the same full area lift pass. So in terms of variety, it is hard to beat!

Morzine sits right at the heart of the Portes du Soleil and has the best nightlife, shops and connections to all ski areas. It has a huge British presence (more than any other resort we know) and Brits love it here!

With skiing and boarding for all levels, some of the best terrain parks in Europe, a pretty chalet-style appearance and only one hour transfer from Geneva - it isn't hard to see why we love Morzine!
