The Chalet

Chalet Joly enjoys an enviable location - right in the centre of Plagne Villages (2050m) and close to the ski shops, ski schools and apres-ski bars. It was fully refurbished for the 2022 season and enjoys the premium facilities of a hot tub on its sundeck, the all-important sauna for post-ski recuperation and boot warmers.

The chalet sleeps twelve in six en-suite bedrooms, over three floors. On the main floor is a newly refurbished, open plan lounge-and-dining room with a log fireplace and a sunny balcony with hot tub and ski slope views that provides the perfect ski-atmosphere. You can watch the skiers go by as you enjoy freshly made cakes for afternoon tea each day.

Plagne Villages is a popular choice for everyone: from beginners looking for easy doorstep skiing to advanced skiers and boarders who want direct access to the best of the Paradiski; and our chalet is right up close to the action.

It’s a great place to unwind after a day on the mountain and your chalet host will be on hand for breakfast and dinner when they will prepare a hearty 3 course evening meal and wine, six nights a week.

Chalet Joly is very close to chalets Elegant, Panoramique and Charmant which makes it easy for larger groups to be close together.

Location

The Location

Joly is perfectly positioned to enjoy some of the best ski slopes in La Plagne from its doorstep. It has a snow sure location so all abilities can ski almost from the door of the chalet until May.

In the morning, simply clip-in to your skis from almost outside the chalet and pick up the ski tracks which head to the main piste. The ski tracks quickly connect to the piste which is a green run that connects to the Bergerie and Melezes chairlifts. We recommend complete beginners cross over the carpark to the nursery ski slopes which are only 100m away. Here, you will find the tourist office/lift office, ski shops and nursery slopes, along with ski school meeting points. After skiing, all abilities can ski back to within 100m of the chalet.

The Telebus ski lift is also close by (<100m from chalet) and will connect you with Plagne Centre for more shops and bars. It runs until late (around midnight) for night-time bars.

Plagne Villages has a small centre which is 100m from the chalet and has a couple of restaurants, shops and apres-ski bars. Plus a lively bar for the hedonists!

Food, glorious food

A good day on the mountains starts with one very important meal. To kick off your day, we serve a hearty breakfast to set you up for all the snow you can handle.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes in the afternoon and our delicious three-course meals with unlimited wine. About La Plagne

La Plagne and the Paradiski make up the 4th largest ski area in France and it’s as snow sure as they come! It has two glaciers for skiing at Plagne Bellecôte (3250m) and the Aiguille Rouge in Les Arcs (3226m). Try the 7 Km long run down from the top of the Aguille Rouge or explore the peaks of La Plagne, where you’ll find a seemingly endless supply of powder-snow, and some of the best (and longest) descents in France.

You will find lots of long runs for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders with a seemingly endless supply of powdery off-piste and some of the longest descents in France.

Plagne Villages (2052m) is one of the prettiest satellites in the area, you are never far from a ski slope and it is easy to ski from the door of our chalets. The ski school meeting points are close by and the Telebus lift (about 100m from our chalets) will connect you to Plagne Centre if you want more action. If ski convenience is high on your agenda, you’ll certainly like it here!
