La Plagne is a firm favourite for skiers and snowboarders who like high altitude slopes and extensive pistes, not to mention lots of off-piste on top! The link to Les Arcs via the Vanoise Express (a €12 million Cable Car) has created a huge ski area in excess of 425Km’s which makes it the fourth largest in France.
The snow sure nature of La Plagne is guaranteed by the glacier skiing at Plagne Bellecôte, which extends up to 3250 metres. And a second glacier over in Les Arcs, the Aguille Rouge . From here you will find up to 2000m vertical drop, with great skiing and boarding for all abilities and a seemingly endless supply of powder, and not to mention some of the longest descents in France.
La Plagne comprises ten villages with snow sure slopes. Linked to Les Arcs it offers the fourth largest ski area in France. Travelwise, it’s a 2.5 hour coach ride from Geneva airport and very doable for a weekend.
With guaranteed snow, the top lift takes you to the heady heights of 3250m; the area specialises in long descents and when it snows, this resort is one of the finest in Europe.
Our hotel is right on the slopes of Plagne 2000. It not only offers guaranteed doorstep skiing, but the slopes to our doorstep are some of the best in the area!
If you want a hedonistic nightlife or easy-going cafés and bars then rest assured La Plagne has it all, and more. And it’s all very close to our hotel.
This is a true all rounders resort and whether beginner or progressive beginner you will find a huge number of well linked green and blue trails to cut your teeth on. All slopes run close to our hotel so you won't have to walk too far and beginners can easily have access to ski most of the resort without the need for drag lifts!
Snowboarders and freeride skiers will love the long powder descents from the summit of the Glacier "Plagne Bellecôte". The resort is well featured with lots of natural terrain - humps, gulleys, natural half pipes and long sweeping runs. La Plagne is perfect for all levels of boarder, and the snow park is not too intimidating and full of beginner and intermediate jumps to try.
Euro carvers will love the big motorway pistes which are perfect for practicing those turns; or you can hit one of several parks if that’s more your style. One thing’s for sure, you will find that this resort will keep you busy for days.
