Traditional French village, short transfer and convenient and varied skiing.
A far cry from some of the purpose-made French ski resorts, La Clusaz is a typical French mountain village where you will find over 200km of pistes and plenty of skiing for a short break.
La Clusaz is perfect for your short ski break. Just an hour from Geneva airport and you will find yourself in this charming mountain village ready to hit the slopes which converge on the centre of the village.
The skiing is great for intermediates and there is a healthy freeriding scene if you want to go boarding. The nightlife isn't extensive but you will find there are plenty of lively bars for your short break.
Despite being a major French ski resort, La Clusaz has not lost it small-village charm. The ski scene has grown up around this traditional mountain village complete with a pretty square and Savoyard church.
An outdoor market sells local produce every Monday in La Place de l’Eglise. Busy streets fan out from the square, each lined with tasteful shops, bars and hotels.
The 132km of ski slopes are particularly well suited to intermediates, but the resort is also fast becoming one of the big names on the freeriding scene.
La Clusaz is a great resort for beginners and intermediates with most of the slopes for intermediates. The slopes go above and below the treeline which gives you plenty of varied skiing and there are plenty of ways to carry on skiing if you find the visibility is poor.
La Clusaz is particularly well-suited to intermediate level skiers: the majority of runs are either blue or red runs. There are also nursery slopes around the village that are perfect if you haven.
You will find La Clusaz to be a charming and authentic mountian village with a relaxed feel that is perfect for your short break.
The après-ski isn't the most extensive in the Alps, but there are some lively bars with live music and L'Ecluse nightclub with a glass dance floor over the river.
