Flaine Ski Weekends
Ski Weekends in flaine, FrancePerfect for the family, this super reliable snow resort offers plenty for everyone!
- Skiing for every level
- Postcard mountain scenery
- Large ski area
- Excellent children's facilities
- Only 1 hour 15 min transfer
Flaine has a remarkable snow record largely due to an obscure "rain shadow" that sits over the valley and creates heaps of snow in winter. So remarkable is this shadow - that Flaine will often get rather more snow than its close neighbour Chamonix which also has an excellent snow record in its own right.
Flaine SKIING & BOARDING
Flaine has some great skiing for intermediate and advanced skiers with plenty of challenging runs and powder opportunities. Around 35% of the resort is tree-lined, so skiers have some interesting and diverse terrain which also provides a perfect contrast for when the weather comes in.
The resort is quite purpose built - but fear not, any unappealing concrete structures are often smothered in lashings of snow! The purpose built nature of the resort also means that many properties are ski-to-door and the ski lift system is well thought out, fast and very efficient - meaning you get more ski time for less waiting! If you like statistics - the 80 lifts that make up the Grand Massif are capable of lifting 75,000 skiers per hour!
Flaine for beginnersBeginner skiing in Flaine is well facilitated with an easy network of green and blue runs served by chairlifts (rather than drag lifts) and good quality ski and snowboard schools.
Flaine the resortYou will certainly not be disappointed with Flaine for your ski break! Flaine is spread over 3 resorts or levels which are all connected by lifts and accessible by foot. It is a car-free resort and thus makes it safer and more pleasant to stay in. Flaine has an interesting array of bars from pizzerias to snack cafes and sit down - more formal - restaurants. Late night bars, clubs and pubs keep the apres skiers happy.
