Ski Weeks in Morzine
Morzine is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil: the biggest international ski area in the world.
Morzine is a pretty alpine town which buzzes with life and is right in the heart of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area, which spans 12 ski villages including the super-resorts of Avoriaz and Chatel in Switzerland. It’s only fifty miles from the airport and so transfer times are only an hour.
Morzine is right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, so offers ‘route 1’ access to any part of this incredible area. Choose Les Gets one day and then Avoriaz the next; and delve deep into Switzerland on your third day. It comprises twelve ski villages that span the Swiss border so you’ll be skiing in France and Switzerland on the same lift pass.
Why we love Morzine!
With so much skiing on offer and 30 terrain parks dotted about, it’s a resort that you can keep coming back to without getting bored.
Morzine is the perfect weekend getaway with a vast ski area its close proximity to Geneva, (approx 1 hour), enables you to get to resort in under 4 hours from leaving the UK under normal traffic conditions.
If you want a hedonistic nightlife or easy-going cafés and bars then rest assured Morzine has it all, and does it better than anyone else!
For Beginners
You’ll enjoy a vast network of interconnecting green and blue runs that offer miles of easy-cruising all over the mountain with epic mountain scenery all the way. This means you won’t be confined to the nursery slopes. Morzine has lots of English speaking ski and board schools ( Brit-run schools too) so you can easily learn to ski or board in just 3 days. We recommend the Morzine-les Gets area lift pass rather than the full Portes du Soleil.
For Intermediates & Advance
Intermediates skiers and boarders will love it here! You have more than 250 Blue and Red runs to choose from and lots of tree lined slopes for when the weather comes in. Morzine gets great snow due to its northern location (most northern resort in France) so when it snows, it REALLY snows! It’s also a good place to try your first powder turns and if you like variety then rest assured, you’ll never cover this huge ski area in just a weekend; but you can do a 76Km circuit of all its 12 stations in a day.
The advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy the sheer variety and expansiveness of its terrain: choose from miles of fast blues, challenging reds and black runs that will take you away from the crowds; or powder itineraries at altitude with more than 30 terrain parks (including ski and boarder cross)
