Ski Accommodation France

Try a catered ski chalet or a ski hotel for the very best in service

catered ski accommodationCatered ski chalet
We Brits still love the archetypal catered ski chalet holiday. The cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and the three course meal with a large quantity of wine remain a firm favourite. Life long friends are made on ski holidays, skiers and boarders are usually a lively eclectic crowd. Kids are well provided for with earlier dinners, babysitting services, evening clubs for older children as well as a comprehensive day programme which caters from babies to teens. Just choose something to suit, as your child grasps the sport parents normally book morning lessons and ski with the children after lunch. Toddlers will love the snowman making outings and arts and crafts activities on offer.

Club Hotels
Club Hotels run by Tour Operators are also a great for families and couples, they offer exactly the same perks as a chalet, cooked breakfast, afternoon tea etc but with the added bonus of crèche facilities, entertainment and wi-fi. One extra you’ll have to forgo is the complimentary vino, hotels all have licensed bars. The overall price will often be less than a catered chalet because the economies of scale allow Tour Ops to save on overheads.

Ski Hotels
If you do choose a private hotel, (often French run), rather than a club hotel (Tour Op run) then you may feel quite cut off, they don’t tend to have the same services such as kids clubs or the same quality of food. You will not find a likeminded mix of guests or the social perks of a Brit run club hotel.

They can range from the no-frills 2 star establishments on the outskirts of the resort to the sumptuous 5 star hotels with every mod con you can think of, which incidentally will probably cost you an arm and a leg!

ATOL ProtectionFinancial Protection
Where ever you book your holiday, make sure you look for ATOL licence holders as this will give one hundred percent financial protection in the event of the company getting into difficulties themselves.

The fabulous thing about ski-resorts is that it is now accessible to all walks of life, hi-tech lift systems carry a staggering amount of people up the mountain every hour coping admirably with ascent in popularity of the ski or snowboard holiday. With the wealth of options now available, most people can find something to suit their budget, whether that means sipping £5000 cocktails in St Moritz or sharing a studio apartment with friends sharing a bottle of French plonk.
