Ski Morzine - Skiing in Morzine
Which slopes?
By choosing The Portes du Soleil you have given yourself a vast array
of options whatever your level of skiing or boarding. There’s 650km of piste covering 14 resorts in France and Switzerland plus a staggering amount of brilliant off piste to keep you happy for months.
Chilled out runs
Go up Pleney and come down Pistes B, C, D and J. Most of Les Gets is
easy blues and reds. Super Morzine is great to find your feet on the first day.
Seraussaix, Qu’mont, Gernes and Proclou are all easy blues. For slightly more
challenging blues try Stade d’Arare and Bleue d’Arare.
Tree lined
Linderets, Les Gets and Morzine all have cracking runs below the tree line for
when the weather comes in. The locally named ‘Star Wars Run’ going down to the
Ardenne bubble is fantastic fun and normally quiet. It also conveniently ends up near a group of pretty south facing mountain restaurants.
Challenging
For a good warm up head over to Pointe de Nyon and go down the Aigle Rouge, perhaps taking on the moguls of Aigle Noir. The Chavannes bowl above Les Gets is home to Yeti and Rosta, two superb blacks. Take the TS Chamossiere and come down Arbis red. Over towards Avoriaz look for the Hauts Fort secteur which should keep you occupied
for the day.
Mountain Restaurants
Chez Nannon on the Nyon Plateau for their excellent Patates au Reblochon (potatoes, ham and cheese.
Pomme de Pins at the bottom of the Linderettes chair gets lots of sun but fills up quickly.
Changa Bangs over in Avoriaz is a good value basic snack bar.
Les Lhottys in Les Gets has stunning views while you loiter with a vin chaud.
Le Rocher in Montriond is best for Tartiflette.
