Cheap Ski Accommodation

Skiing is now accessible to all budgets, even in the most glamorous resorts

ski chaletsSelf catered Accommodation
Self catered apartments are the most popular choice for those just needing a bed for the night, France is geared up for this more than other countries but don’t expect anything spacious or more than basic.

Self catered chalets are a little harder to come by (as most are catered) but still a very good bet if you are holidaying with friends and family. Just turn up en masse, by car, train, or plane and cook whatever you like and eat it whenever you so desire. Let the kids run riot without worrying about other guest’s repose and lounge about in your preferred chalet attire in complete comfort.

The choice of chalets is endless. The more traditionally built wooden chalets look the part; older more authentic buildings may not have the space and ensuites for every room often found in their modern imitations but make up for it with quirky and original features. Find out where it’s located within the resort, it’s no good finding the perfect, surprisingly cheap chalet to realise you have to walk half an hour to the nearest lift. There are some seriously luxury chalets out there, hot tubs, under floor heating, swimming pools, wi-fi, huge flat screen tvs  are extras that are being offered to help you create that perfect home from home environment.

Catered chalets and Hotels
Amazingly, catered chalets and ski packages from Tour Operators often work out to be cheaper than self catered. Once you’ve totted up you travel arrangements (flights, transfers, or ferry, car, petrol, tolls) lift passes, food and drink not to mention the chalet itself the cost soon escalates.
